20 years into their storied career, Naarm/Melbourne post hardcore outfit Behind Crimson Eyes are calling it quits, but not before one final EP and a last run of shows.
Having announced their impending retirement in July of last year, fans of Behind Crimson Eyes have been anticipating their departure from the music scene for a number of months now, with the full details arriving today.
Unveiling new single Burn It Down today, the track is taken from their final EP, An Exodus From Eden, which is due to arrive on April 4th. A brutal call to action that sees frontman Josh Stuart calling upon listeners to stand up to tyranny and corruption, it follows on from last year’s DEAD.DROP.DEAD as a masterclass of what makes Behind Crimson Eyes so memorable.
“Burn It Down is a protest against discrimination, corruption, and the abuse of power,” says Stuart. “The song channels the pain and anger many feel in the fight against inequality, but also hints at the hope for systemic change.
“The song’s central theme is that we can rise from the ashes to build a more just and equitable future for all.

“Musically, Burn It Down is a ferocious blend of Metalcore and melodic beauty, featuring the angelic vocals of Sally Chatfield from Lunacy,” he adds. “The track is reminiscent of the intensity and anger contained within The Bonesmen, along with the darkness of DEAD.DROP.DEAD. It serves as the best example of what to expect from our upcoming EP, An Exodus From Eden.”
While the EP will arrive at the start of April, it will be the impetus for one final national run of shows for the band. Launching their fittingly-titled The End Of Behind Crimson Eyes tour in Adelaide on April 18th, they’ll visit Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane before wrapping up with a special hometown show at Stay Gold on May 3rd.
Behind Crimson Eyes first formed in 2004 and released their debut album, A Revelation For Despair, in 2006. The record hit #43 on the ARIA charts, and the band went on to tour alongside massive names such as Bullet For My Valentine, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Alexisonfire, Story Of The Year, and Senses Fail.
