Regional Queensland Venue To Reopen This Month After Huge Renovations

The Beenleigh Tavern in South East Queensland will reopen its doors later this month after a major overhaul, with a bunch of live shows on the cards for the rest of the year.

With half its population travelling to Brisbane city each day, the town of Beenleigh in South East Queensland has become a major commuter-belt suburb over time; but luckily, local punters won't have to travel far to catch a cracking live gig in the near future, with the iconic Beenleigh Tavern set to reopen its doors come Wednesday 21 July after a $1.45 million renovation.

Already a venue with an established reputation as hub for live music, the recent Beenleigh Tavern upgrade project follows a huge investment in the Queensland market by the food and beverage-led hospitality group Australian Venue Co., with the likes of the Bonny View Hotel in Brisbane, the Wallaby Hotel on the Gold Coast and King's Beach Tavern up on the Sunshine Coast all nabbing a huge facelift as part of the Australian Venue Co. undertaking.

With every inch of the tavern scoring an upgrade, including the Sports Bar, Bistro and Gaming Room, the new-look tavern is also set to host some major acts in its first few months, including The Black Sorrows, Diesel and Shannon Noll lined up to take to the stage starting this August.

After a decent slab of time where live music was entirely off the menu for many, this investment in the burgeoning SEQ market is a refreshing reminder of the importance of a local pub and live venue in the community, giving locals a chance to catch some shows closer to home and connect with events in their own backyard.

Scott Martin, Area Manager for Australian Venue Co, is excited to soon be able to reveal the fresh, new-look pub and entertainment line-up to locals.

“We can’t wait to be back. We’ve got a massive line up of live entertainment for the rest of the year, we’re really excited to bring the sports bar stage back to its former glory,” said Martin.
