Beating Adele, Justin Bieber & Taylor Swift To #1 Is Harder Than It Looks

It's like, really, really hard.

The midweek ARIA chart figures paint a familiar picture this week as it looks very likely that Adele's third studio album 25 will top the Albums chart for a seventh straight week while pop superstars Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are also set to finish in the top five, which begs the question: Can anyone dethrone these pop juggernauts?

Adele's latest offering has not only remained unmoved from top spot since its release in November, but it was also today announced as Australia's highest selling album for 2015.

Meanwhile Bieber's Purpose peaked at #1 upon its release just a week before Adele's album, however it has comfortably remained in the top three in the following weeks, while Swift's 2014 record 1989 has impressively stayed at the top end of the chart for 62 weeks.

For yet another week it looks as though British acts Ed Sheeran and Coldplay will round out the top five with their respective albums, X and A Head Full Of Dreams.

The only album debut this week comes from US artist Rachel Platten with her third record, Wildfire.

Adele and Bieber look to again battle for top spot on the Singles Chart with the UK singer's hit song Hello up against Biebs' Love Yourself and Sorry, although the release of Swift's sixth single from 1989, Out Of The Woods, could shake things up.

Also expect to hear new tracks this week from Elle King with Ex's & Oh'sZara Larsson's Lush LifeAlessia Cara with Here, Platten's Stand By You and Selena Gomez with Same Old Love.
