Tkay Maidza, Allday, The Beards and more also take home awards
Some of Adelaide’s best have received much-deserved accolades, with the winners of this year’s Fowler’s Live Music Awards being unveiled.
The third annual FLMA saw Bad/Dreems take out the APRA AMCOS-supported, peer-nominated SA Songwriter(s) Of The Year award, and take home $500 cash as well as Best Rock Act, with Timberwolf and Julia Henning also scoring multiple awards, and Tkay Maidza, Allday, The Beards and a range of other industry personnel receiving recognition for their work.
Speaking to theMusic.com.au in the lead up to the event, director Peter Darwin said this year’s awards was about drawing focus to new talent.

“There’s that generalisation that [Adelaide’s] not really keeping pace with the eastern state, or people don’t go out, or it’s a small tour and nobody wants to pay for anything or buy tickets. People keep harping back to the ‘70s or ‘80s with bands like Cold Chisel, rather than looking forward and looking for people actually doing stuff,” Darwin said.
“If you are looking at the same acts over and over, you’re probably not progressing the situation much at all.”
