‘I Have To Go Rogue Every Single Time’: Peach PRC Reflects On The Past As She Steps Into Her New Era

Bad//Dreems, Taasha Coates Lead SAM Awards Ceremony Entertainment

“I can't wait to join the legends of the amazing South Australian music scene who are absolutely killing it."

With the SAM Awards just over week away, a slew of local talent has signed on to perform on the night, with buzz acts Electric Fields and Mane joined by an all-star band featuring appearances from members of Bad//Dreems, The Audreys’ Taasha Coates and more.

It’s not surprising the Nov 11 event at The Norwood Concert Hall – proudly presented by The Music - sold out a while back, with the state’s creative scene proving to be one of the most promising in the world, so it's fitting that triple j Unearthed presenter and band manager Maggie Collins has been confirmed as a guest MC on the night, joined by Adelaide’s “favourite bearded multi-instrumentalist” Adam Page.

“I can't wait to join the legends of the amazing South Australian music scene who are absolutely killing it. It's going to be awesome to see performances from such a diverse range of artists, and celebrate the achievements of a sturdy community of music-makers,” Collins said.

Punters and industry folk will get a first-hand taste of that community with performances from the aforementioned Electric Fields, nominated for Best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Artist and Best New Artist, and Mane, who also cleaned up on the nomination front, landing Best Release, Best Female, Best New Artist and Most Popular Pop Artist.

Once the awards have been dished out, the Derringers Adelaide All-Star Band – an eight-piece band curated by Ross McHenry of Shaolin Afronauts and The Transatlantics fame – will get the party started, joined by Bad//Dreems, Taasha Coates, Jesse Davidson, Oisima, Rin McArdle, Naomi Keyte and more to cover all of the 2016 Best Song nominees.
