In some very big news for Brisbane's Awaken I Am, the rock/post-hardcore outfit has just inked a deal with US label, Victory Records.

Awaken I Am is vocalist Adam Douglas, drummer Luke McKenzie, and guitarists Ned Jankovic and Connor Oakley, and in light of the recent signing, the group have unveiled their newest single - 'Slumber'; a soaring rock track that us Aussies would have come to expect from the band. But for the wider American (and international) markets that will be introduced to the band's sound via their association with Victory Records, this song could do wonders for the band.

Of course, whenever we talk about bands and Victory Records, it's important to remember that despite all controversy and all of the behind-the-scenes bullshit (of which there is no shortage of) this label does help "make" bands; they can help them become household names and with the right band or the right album, the label can turn something small into something monolithic. So, here's hoping that's the case with Awaken I Am.

Anyway! The new music video was shot by Brisbane's Harley Folbigg (AKA HarlraH, who recently shot for KYS on the Bayside tour), and the track was produced Sonny Truelove and Evan over at Stl Studios. The band are planning to release a new full-length album in 2017 with producer Taylor Larson. Now, if that name sounds familiar, that's because Larson is not only the guitarist for From First To Last, but he has also worked on records by Periphery, Veil Of Maya, I See Stars, Sky Eats Aeroplane and many more.
