Australian Women In Music Awards Announces 2019 Keynote Speaker, Program & Performers

Taking place in Brisbane on 8-9 October.

The Australian Women In Music Awards has today shared the details of their 2019 event. 

It's been revealed today that writer and musician Eddie Ayres will be this year's keynote speaker. 

"Our 2019 keynote speaker, Eddie Ayres, is part of a hopeful vision for the future of women and diverse people in positions of power and creative control," said AWMAs' Founding Executive Director Vicki Gordon. 

"Because we are at a crossroads of dynamic possibilities for inclusivity, AWMA’s vision is to lead with generosity, to insist that our society benefits when musicians and those who work with them are empowered from a diversity of places, cultures and identities."

Additionally, the details of the AWMA Forum Program have been shared, with Kween G, Merenia Marin, Rhianna Patrick and Dr Eve Klein all set to lead panels. Head here for more info on this year's program.

The award ceremony will be hosted by Yumi Stynes and Alethea Beetson, with Cheryl Barker, Tamara Anna Cislowska, Clare Bowditch, Katie Noonan, Melinda Schneider, NGAIIRE and more set to make appearances throughout the night.
