This week, American rock band My Chemical Romance announced 2026 tour dates, marking the 20th anniversary of their beloved third album, The Black Parade. However, Australian and New Zealand fans are left gutted, as no tour dates are currently listed in the Antipodean region.
At the time of publication, My Chemical Romance will tour the globe from January to October 2026, with dates listed in South America, Asia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, as well as several festivals, including Hammersonic, Welcome To Rockville, and Louder Than Life.
The lack of dates in Australia and New Zealand is upsetting fans, who commented on the band’s post about hitting the road again in 2026, “But what about AUSTRALIA?! 😭😭😭.”
Many such comments (and crying emojis) are littered throughout the band’s comment section. “Still waiting for Nz/Aus to be included,” wrote another fan, who received the responses, “same, I'm daydreaming about the day they come to Brisbane,” and “same 😭.”
“I need an AUSTRALIA tour! 😭😫 @mychemicalromance,” the comments continued, with more fans writing “Australia??,” “Damn slow down with all those Australian dates,” “Ripping Australia off boys,” “still no australia dates……. 😢please come to australia……😢,” “Patiently waiting in Australia,” and “No Aus 💔😭.”

My Chemical Romance last toured Australia in March 2023. They performed in arenas in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane and were joined by special guests Jimmy Eat World.
There is potential for the band to tour Australia in 2026, with gaps in their touring schedule for the entire month of March. The band will perform in Mexico City on 14 February, then return to the road on 18 April in South Korea.
So, there’s a chance that Australian dates could be announced for March 2026, or we’ll be last on the touring schedule, following the final date at the Hollywood Bowl on 24 October. Early or late 2026 seems to be the vibe – if not 2027.
Reviewing My Chemical Romance’s performance at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena in March 2023—marking the band’s first shows in Australia since 2012, and their first since ending their hiatus in 2019—The Music’s Christopher Lewis wrote:
Amongst the screaming, there were tears and people embracing each other in moments of sheer happiness that they were witnessing My Chemical Romance on stage. In a perfect storm of catharsis, it was an evening of mutual devotion, fierce passion, and an understanding that music can save you. They’ve still got it.
