Go for gold Dami Im!

More Dami Im More Dami Im

Led into glory by Guy Sebastian last year as Australia's very first Eurovision contestant, Australia has once again been invited back to compete in the annual Eurovision Song Contest.

This year, 27-year-old Korean-Australian singer and Season 5 X-Factor Australia winner Dami Im will represent our fine country in Stockholm for the 2016 competition. Since winning X-Factor, Im has gone on to score a #1 single on the ARIA Singles Chart with Alive, as well as a #1 album with her self-titled second record.

As SBS reports, Im was announced as the Australian contestant last night at Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst's From Vienna With Love concert, with none other than Sebastian present to welcome Im to the stage.

Im says, "I truly believe that the Australian public and Eurovision fans around the world are going to love the song I will be performing in Sweden. I cannot wait to showcase it to the world and represent Australia to the best of my ability!"

Im's performance has the potential to crack her into the European market — a feat Sebastian achieved after his top five scoring at Eurovision last year.
