Aussie Tour Manager Proposes To Music Publicist Girlfriend At Mariachi El Bronx Melb Show

This will warm your heart.

More Mariachi El Bronx Mariachi El Bronx Profile

It was always going to be a unique occasion when US outfit Mariachi El Bronx hit Melbourne last night, but their gig was made that much more special after the band's Aussie tour manager and renowned industry figure, Luke 'Boo' Johnston, proposed to his girlfriend and music publicist Cat Clarke on stage.

A video shot from the crowd at The Gasometer Hotel and given to The Music shows Mariachi El Bronx frontman Matt Caughthran invite Johnston, who has also tour managed the likes of The Jezabels, and Clarke, of Riothouse Publicity, on stage.

"Every day with you is my favourite day," Johnston said to Clarke in front of the eager crowd.

"So, that makes today my new favourite day. So, will you marry me?"

Don't worry, this story has a happy ending — Clarke said yes.

"Free tequila for everybody!" Johnston exclaimed, and with that, the newly-engaged couple and some of the crowd enjoyed some shots together as Mariachi El Bronx continued the show.
