Australian blues maestro Ash Grunwald will connect with fans this month via a live-streamed gig from his home studio.

Since the COVID pandemic hit, the singer-songwriter has been offering online music lessons, mentoring and private shows via Zoom, but will go large on May 16 at 8pm AEST with an interactive live-streamed concert.

Grunwald was forced to postpone all upcoming performances when COVID-related shutdowns took place across Australia, but his first encounter with coronavirus came amid his European tour.

The Aussie muso was in Spain when the country declared a state of emergency and then he scrambled to get home.

“It was so surreal. It was kind of like being in a movie,” Grunwald said.

“The disappointment of losing the gigs and the tour turned to anxiety in the rush to get to the airport and then relief when I finally landed in Australia.”
