A former A$AP Mob member alleges that after a verbal altercation, Rocky "pulled out a handgun and purposefully pointed it in the direction of [Relli] and fired multiple shots."
Global rap superstar A$AP Rocky has been charged with firearm assault. The assault is connected to a shooting in Holywood last year, where Rocky pointed a gun at former A$AP Mob member following an argument.
The prosecutors have said that he fired the weapon in the direction of the victim and gave him a minor injury. If he is found guilty of the charges, he could face up to 9 years in jail.
He will appear in court on Wednesday to answer to the charges. His lawyer and he have not made any immediate comment on the issue.
News broke of the shooting when Rocky was initially arrested at LA Airport after a holiday with Rihanna. He was released after posting $550,000 of bail three hours later.
LA County District Attorney George Gascon stated that, "Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offence that could have ended with tragic consequences, not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.
"My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted."
A$AP Relli, the victim sued Rocky last week alleging battery, negligence and assault. He alleges that after a verbal altercation, Rocky "pulled out a handgun and purposefully pointed it in the direction of [Relli] and fired multiple shots." He was "struck by bullet projectile/fragments" in his hand and is seeking $25,000 in damages.
