A$AP Rocky ProfileAmerican artist, entrepreneur, actor and fashion icon A$AP Rocky is returning to Australia in December. No, not December 2027 – two months from now.
Today, the rapper has announced the long-awaited Australian leg of his Don’t Be Dumb World Tour, marking his first shows in the region in eight years. The tour, promoted by Live Nation, gives fans the opportunity to witness Rocky’s latest album, Don’t Be Dumb, live.
The tour begins at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, 5 December. It continues at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on Wednesday, 9 October, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Monday, 14 December, and concludes at Perth’s RAC Arena on Thursday, 17 December.
Fans have multiple pre-sale options to get tickets. The Artist, Vodafone, and Mastercard pre-sales open on Wednesday, 14 October, at 12 pm local time – head to the A$AP Rocky, Vodafone, and Priceless websites for more information.
The My Live Nation and Westfield pre-sales open on Thursday, 15 October, at 12 pm local time via the Live Nation and Westfield websites. The general sale opens on Friday, 16 October, at 1 pm local time via the A$AP Rocky and Live Nation websites.
Don’t Be Dumb, A$AP Rocky’s fourth album, was released in January. The record features guest appearances from Gorillaz, Doechii, Jessica Pratt, will.i.am, and others; digital editions also feature Jozzy, Tokischa, Tyler, the Creator, and Imogen Heap.
The album topped the US Billboard 200, becoming the rapper’s first #1 debut in over a decade. Rocky’s upcoming Australian tour follows the conclusion of his sold-out, 25-date European and UK leg in support of Don’t Be Dumb.
In a recent interview, Rocky recalled the wildest fan interaction he can remember, which took place in Australia.
In 2013, the rapper was performing at the Origin New Year’s Eve festival in Perth when he spotted a fan dangling from the rafter at the top of the stage.
“I just stopped the show, and I just remember praying to myself, like, ‘God, please don’t let this dude fall,’” he said, adding: “Next thing you know, he was holding on for a little bit, then he just fell and dropped straight into the pit.”
A$AP Rocky remembered jumping down from the stage to make sure the fan was alright, and upon going to check on them, the fan said: “A$AP, I got some beats!”
He recalled his thoughts at the time: “What the fuck is wrong with you? Half dead, talking about how you got a beat, trying to give me a USB, how do you even… he couldn’t even walk; the hell is wrong with these kids?”
He concluded, “That was one of the craziest moments I had with a fan.”
