The International Act Aussies Most Want To See In 2022

14 December 2021 | 11:21 am | Staff Writer

That's a lot of votes...

It’s not surprising that Aussie concertgoers are itching to see their favourite international acts again, and as vaccination rates continue to rise across the country, we’re slowly getting closer to opening our borders to huge tours.

As part of their VAXSTAGE PASS competition, major Aussie promoters Frontier, Live Nation and TEG asked entrants who they were most excited to see in 2022 (out of acts who already had tours planned), and the 48,000 votes resulted in a top 10 that’s mostly international artists.

Today’s reveal sees hip hop legend Snoop Dogg top the list ahead of his highly anticipated run of shows across the country next October and November to promote his 17th album and new documentary of the same name, I Wanna Thank Me, marking his first return to Australia since the Big Day Out in 2014.

1.         Snoop Dogg

2.         Harry Styles

3.         KISS

4.         Guns N Roses

5.         My Chemical Romance (postponed to 2023)

6.         Tyler, the Creator

7.         The Kid LAROI

8.         Faith No More (cancelled)

9.         Keith Urban

10.       Guy Sebastian

In a joint statement, Frontier, Live Nation and TEG said: “The live entertainment industry has done its bit to encourage vaccinations and we are thrilled to give away these, the biggest live entertainment prizes in Australian history, to five entrants and their special guests.

“VAXSTAGE PASS is a collaborative effort from Australia’s top live entertainment promoters and we are proud that, along with the VAXTHENATION campaign, it has made its own contribution to the nation’s vaccine rollout. We cannot wait to get Australia dancing and enjoying the magic of live again in 2022.”
