Ball Park MusicAt 8am this morning, voting opened for Australia's most prestigious music countdown, triple j's Hottest 100. Just like that social media was awash with artists kindly begging for your very important vote and a chance at musical immortality.
Some acts like The Presets and Alison Wonderland went the earnest route, politely asking you to gift them with your vote, only if you want to though.
Ball Park Music, Thundamentals and DZ Deathrays take it up a notch, offering behind the scenes videos and Simpsons themed artwork in the hopes that it’ll sway the audience.

Joyride learns a lesson or two from reality TV, tugging on heartstrings in an impassioned attempt to get Aunty Tracy’s Cookies to the 100 spot (that’s really the spot he wants).
Then you have the acts going the straight up bribe tactic. Bad//Dreems are offering a zooper dooper (grape and fairy floss flavours only) for every punter that throws a vote their way.
Skegss take the cake however, as they are dangling the chance at a golden ticket to all their 2018 shows to the people who tag them in their vote on Facebook.
This is only day one; as artists get more desperate will we see something like Glass Animals iconic (and fulfilled) promise to slap their guitarist with a dead fish if they got into the countdown? Time will only tell, my friends, time will only tell.
Check out some acts persuasions below and happy voting!
