Arteries Reveal Hectic New Single, 'Year Of The Snake'

'Year Of The Snake', the best song that The Dillinger Escape Plan never wrote.

Do you know where Newton is in Australia? I didn't either until I got an email today about Arteries mental new single, 'Year Of The Snake'. Hailing from the middle-class suburb of Adelaide, the local noise-makers in Arteries channel the very best bits of their collective influences like Norma JeanThe ChariotConverge, and their fellow Aussie mates in Junkhead and She Cries Wolf to create a brutally effective take on modern heavy music.

Mixing off-kilter rhythms and jagged grooves, blistering drum patterns, and intense, throaty vocal deliveries with their powerful dual eight-string attacks, Arteries' music is dark, melancholic, yet batshit insane at the same time; a potent combination to be sure! This was very true of their previous single, February's killer tune, 'Conversation Killer', and it's also very true now with their newest cutthroat assault, 'Year Of The Snake'. Judging by the South Australian group's current track record, their forthcoming LP 'This Will Destroy Us' should hopefully deliver some truly off the wall hardcore also.

For those unaware, these local dudes have accumulated a long yet solid list of stage-sharing names to their CV by opening up for the likes of Bleeding Through, Raised FistNorma JeanProtest The HeroOcean GroveMake Them Suffer, and Northlane. Of course, the really big one was when they won the Triple J Unearthed competition to open for Architects Adelaide show back in May of this year; a slot that they more than deserved.

But look, that's enough of that PR-like spill! Arteries released 'Year Of The Snake' via their own Facebook page today and you can stream it below because of the beauty of video embedding.
