Arj Barker, Gen Fricker & More Round Out Full Sydney Comedy Festival Program

The annual stand-up summit returns to Sydney next month

The annual Sydney Comedy Festival has capped off its buzz-building lead-up in true style, unveiling its full program ahead of next month's opening night, with a litany of veteran funny-people joining the fray, including Arj BarkerGen FrickerLaurence Leung and more.

Also joining the roster for the 12th annual festival — which already boasts the likes of Ross Noble, David O'Doherty, Stephen K Amos, Tommy Tiernan, Brian Posehn, Kitty Flanagan, Felicity Ward, Em Rusciano and several others — are Anne EdmondsHarley BreenMichael Hing and Craig Hill, who will appear as part of the Rhys Nicholson-hosted Late Night Club along with Marney McQueenAndy DexterityBrett Bower and more.

Women in comedy will step under the spotlight at evergreen feature Frocking Hilarious, at the Enmore — this year in support of ActionAid Australia — while the venue will ensure the laughter rages long into the night with Festival Club Comedy Up Late!. Of course, if you're short on time and gunning for the highlights, you could always check out the Best Of The Fest Showcase, four nights a week at The Factory.

It's not just straight stand-up on offer, with the SCF putting on a highlight reel of emergent comedy goodness at its Australia's Funniest Shorts program at The Factory, while Redfern's Giant Dwarf will play host to Bonus Stage, "a live talk show just for gamers". In a similar vein will be the undoubtedly popular Good Game Live and, at Giant Dwarf, the charitable Story Club, raising funds for Marrickville Legal Centre.

The 2016 Sydney Comedy Festival runs from 18 April until 15 May across the Enmore Theatre, The Factory Theatre, The Concourse, Riverside Theatres, The Comedy Store, Giant Dwarf, Sydney Town Hall, Sydney Opera House and the Hayden Orpheum.
