New Year, Same You: Looks Like Nothing Can Top 'Dance Monkey' On The Charts

11 January 2020 | 5:00 pm | Staff Writer

It's another week on top for Tones & I.

Tones & I's record-breaking ARIA chart reign may have ended over the festive period but the Byron Bay-based singer is back on top for another week.

After 21 weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles chart, Tones & I’s global hit song, Dance Monkey, was dethroned by Mariah Carey's 1994 holiday classic, All I Want For Christmas Is Youbut after reclaiming the throne last week, the local act has held onto the top spot for another week.

Despite being released this week and reaching #1 on digital services, Delta Goodrem’s bushfire tribute song Let It Rain is expected to enter the ARIA charts next week.

"I have been sent incredible messages asking if I would release Let It Rain, the song I was inspired to write seeing the devastation from the fires across our country," said Goodrem of the track.

"It is now available and I am donating all of my proceeds of the song to aid with the bushfire relief."
