The race is on!
It’s Pearl Jam versus 5 Seconds Of Summer in the race to #1 on this week’s ARIA Albums chart.
US icons Pearl Jam are aiming for their third consecutive #1 album in Australia with their long-awaited 11th studio album Gigaton, but will have to beat local pop rock favourites 5 Seconds Of Summer and their latest offering, CALM, to the top spot.
Taking down the Aussie superstars won’t be an easy task, with 5SOS’s previous three LPs all shooting to #1 in Australia upon release, but if anyone has a shot, it’s Pearl Jam, whose new album could be their most divisive since 1996’s No Code (which also hit #1 Down Under).
Back in February, 5SOS stopped by The Green Room with Neil Griffiths to chat about the new record.

Another potential contender for the top spot is English singer-songwriter Dua Lipa, whose Future Nostalgia is expected to debut in the top three, while local rockers The Chats’ High Risk Behaviour is expected to crack the top 10 alongside US rapper Joyner Lucas with ADHD.
Other local releases set to debut in the ARIA Albums chart this week include The Wiggles’ Fun And Games (top 40) and Parkway Drive’s Viva The Underdogs soundtrack (top 50).
Over on the Singles chart, Dua Lipa is looking to soar into the top 10, with Break My Heart set to debut as Physical moves up, while 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Old Me hits the top 50 and The Rubens’ Live In Life moves into the top 40.
