Archie RoachThe legendary Archie Roach will be honoured at this year's Music In The House charity event, Support Act's annual fundraising luncheon.
Roach will be presented with Support Act's Excellence In The Community Award "in recognition of his powerful contribution to the voice of First Nations’ people and all Australians" at Sydney's Ivy Ballroom on 16 May.
"Archie Roach is a figure that towers, always modestly, over the Australian music landscape," said Support Act CEO Joanna Cave.
"Beyond music, his contribution to the community has been deep and meaningful and his impact profound. He commands the love and respect of all who encounter him and is a most worthy recipient of Support Act's 2018 Award."
As well as a performance from Roach himself, Paul Kelly with Maddie and Memphis Kelly, Tiddas, and Emma Donovan will all pay tribute to Roach and his career with performances on the day.
The Music In The House event will raise much needed funds for Support Act, a charity that assists members of the Australian music industry during times of hardship.
