Archie RoachAustralian music icon Archie Roach has been named among those on the 2015 Queen’s Birthday honours list
More than 700 people were named on this year’s list, and Roach was recognised as a musician for his strong voice in the debate on Indigenous welfare and impact on music in Australia.
Roach is currently on his new record, Let Love Rule, with producer Craig Pilkington, which continues his position as a spokesman for social justice.
The album is set to be release later his year through Liberation Music, and you can catch Archie Roach at Leaps & Bound’s free outdoor street party, Smith Street Dreaming, on Saturday 18 July.
