APRA has released the shortlist of APRA Song Of The Year finalists.

A peer-voted award, the list, boasting some of the finest local tracks of 2019, represents songs as chosen by APRA members.

Paul Kelly, The Teskey Brothers, Angie McMahon, Ainslie Wills, Sarah Aarons, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Kaiit all return to the list after their nominations in 2018.

This year's list also features a number of first-timers including Tones & I, Mallrat, Jessica Mauboy, Thelma Plum and more.

Aarons picked up the coveted Songwriter Of The Year Award at last year's ceremony and Amy Shark took out the Song Of The Year category with hit I Said Hi.
