A new committee will work to ensure the city's music scene thrives
The Melbourne community are encouraging those involved in the arts and music sector to get involved in the initiative known as the Music Strategy For Melbourne.
Music businesses, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, promoters and artists can now apply to be apart of the Music Strategy For Melbourne Advisory Committee. The idea of the committee is for members to provide their opinions and critique on the current Music Strategy, developed in 2010 and give their expertise in the new strategy moving forward for 2013-17.
Rohan Leppert, Chair of the Arts Portfolio Councillor, said it's all about continuing to flourish the music scene in the city.
“From the live music venues, to the artists, musicians, producers and punters; Melbourne's reputation for being a city of music is well established,” said Cr Leppert. “But if we're going to continue to foster an environment and opportunities for the city's music industry and creative soul to thrive and grow, we need to work with the key players involved.”
