Another Singer From 'The Voice' Has Been Shot And Killed

Just over a week after Christina Grimmie was killed

The tragedies don't seem to be stopping for the entertainment industry, as another singer from music reality show The Voice has been shot and killed.

Alejandro Fuentes competed in Mexico's The Voice in 2011 and died this weekend "due to multiple gunshot wounds", as ABC reports.

45-year-old Fuentes was shot in Chicago reportedly after celebrating his birthday — he was reportedly ordered out of a car and when Fuentes refused, was shot numerous times in the head.

No one has been charged for the murder.

Fuentes ran a music school called Tras Bambalinas in Chicago. They have posted a statement which says (translated), "The Latino community in Illinois loses today to a great artist, teacher, friend but most of all a great human being."

A GoFundMe has been launched for Fuentes with nearly $5,000 raised already. It was initially started to help with Fuentes' emergency surgeries.

The news comes just over a week after 22-year-old The Voice US singer Christina Grimmie was gunned down at a merch table in Orlando, Florida.
