The veteran Australian musician joins lead candidate for NSW Kirralie Smith
Gary "Angry" Anderson, best known for his role as the frontman of iconic Oz-rockers Rose Tattoo, has received the official endorsement of the anti-Islam Australian Liberty Alliance as the party's second senate candidate in NSW, joining lead candidate Kirralie Smith in leading the charge for the ALA's policies and viewpoints.
A Member of the Order Of Australia since 1993, Anderson has long been recognised for activism and charitable activities, but decided an independent party was the most apt channel through which to express his political ideals.
"We live in deeply troubled times and there are those who oppose us at every step of the way," Anderson said in a statement. "Belonging to a major party, I found, was not going to satisfy my political needs. I have thrown my lot in with Australian Liberty Alliance because I believe it's where I can serve my country best."
Among its key policies, the ALA lists a belief in "smarter, smaller government" as well as "integration over separation", expending the most words under a section heading addressing their desire to "Stop the Islamisation of Australia". As the party so eruditely explains on its website, "Migrants do not dream of a new life in Australia because we are a Socialist, Islamic or tribal society. Migrants come for the freedom, justice and prosperity only Western civilisation creates."

The ALA also, in its writings, trumpets the need for Australians to "[restore] civil society", advance "the natural family", ramp up military spending, continue to block euthanasia, and deny the need for change in the country's Constitution, national anthem or flag (because what's wrong with those?). These aren't sledges; these are all policies you can read for yourself.
Smith echoed Anderson's sentiments at the news of his endorsement, explaining that she and the singer "share the same desire for Australia to remain a safe and prosperous nation for our citizens".
The ALA will formally announce Anderson as their second senate candidate for NSW at a press conference on Monday, 9 May.
