Al Anderson and Junior Marvin's band lead a strong first line up announcement.

The first list of bands for the 2012 installment of Stradbroke Island's Island Vibe festival has been announced and it looks like this is going to be by far the biggest even organisers have put together to date.

When it comes to reggae and roots music, you can't ask for much more than having a band like The Original Wailers on your line up. The band is made up of some of Jamaica's finest musicians including bandleader Al Anderson and guitarist Junior Marvin, who backed up Bob Marley back in the day, and promise to bring the spirit of reggae to the festival in the finest of fashion.

Joining them will be fellow Jamican Prince Alla with Mr Savona, Canada's JPod, Gaudi (Italy/UK) and locals Chant Down Sound, Kooii, The Upsteppers, Ganga Giri, Antiheros and Rhythm Collision Sound.

There are still plenty more acts to be announced for the October event, which celebrates its seventh anniversary in 2012.
