Alison Moyet Set To Return To Australia With 2025 Tour

For the first time in eight years, 80s powerhouse Alison Moyet will be touring Australia again with the announcement of her KEY Live 2025 World Tour.

This time around, the English contralto singer will premiere work from her latest album, KEY, which will be released on 4th October 2024.

KEY will mark Moyet’s tenth solo studio album, with the tour also coinciding with forty years of the singer’s solo career. The recently released single Such Small Ale is a taste of what to expect on this new sonic edition.

Initially starting her solo career under the moniker Alf, Alison Moyet has gone on to win three BRIT Awards and a Grammy nomination and was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2022 for her achievements in music for England over the years. 

Gen X may remember this powerhouse best for making up one-half of 80s synth-pop duo Yazoo (Yaz in the US), who released the iconic hits Situation, Only You, and Don’t Go. As the clock struck over to the mid-eighties, Moyet began releasing catchy hits under her own name, such as Is This Love? and All Cried Out. 

Nostalgic fans can expect renditions of some of the early hits at Moyet’s 2025 concert, along with the premiere of her latest work.

The Australian leg of the tour will begin at Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall on 29th May, followed by performances over the weekend at Sydney’s Darling Harbour Theatre on Saturday, 31st May, and Plenary in Melbourne on 1st June. Perth will be included in the final show of the tour, which will be held on 4th June at Riverside Theatre.

While she hasn’t visited in a while, Moyet is keen to greet Australia with open arms once more, stating:

Australia has been such a rare visit for me, but its impact has been the stuff of wonder: the light and the astounding beauty. My travelling years are drawing in, so this return to you is a significant one. It has taken all my working years to get to know myself as an artist, and live work is the summation.

It’s a privilege to be offered a stage, and my joy to accept it. I am beyond happy to be sharing those days with whosoever of you may come.
