Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip announces a brand new solo album in the works, entitled 'Await Barbarians'.
Singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and self-confessed geek, ALEXIS TAYLOR (known largely as the frontman of the synthpop group HOT CHIP) is returning once again to his own devices with the announcement of a brand new solo album, entitled 'Await Barbarians'. Did anyone say zeitgeist?
It's certainly evident that ALEXIS has never been one to be shy of experimentation, especially in the form of musical endeavours. His leftfield sensibilities sway from sounds ranging from indie rock, to synthpop, to folk and back in the space of a funky heartbeat. Upbeat and sometimes tense motifs are reflected through his work in HOT CHIP, but his solo works give TAYLOR a chance to become more up close and personal with the microphone.

TAYLOR's first single, entitled 'Elvis Has Left The Building' from his newly announced upcoming album 'Await Barbarians' gives a perfect insight into the peculiar sound of the release, and the distance (and familiarity) from the musicians HOT CHIP work. Slowly paced and riveted with nostalgia-tinged electronica such as metronomes and Casio arpeggios, he dotes lightly throughout the track with his staple vocal timbre.
ALEXIS TAYLOR's third solo album 'Await Barbarians' is set to be released on Fri 6th June via the legendary DOMINO records.
