Melbourne's Alex Lahey would be staring at a super-bright horizon regardless, but her next few weeks are looking especially sunny given the news that she'll be releasing her debut EP, B-Grade University, before the month's out, earlier than its expected August release.

Although Lahey is set to help kick off Splendour In The Grass in the right way with a performance on Friday 22 July and go on to a solid string of support shows for John Steel Singers on their upcoming national tour, she's punctuating both nicely by putting out her debut on Friday 29 July via Lahey's own label, Nicky Boy Records, in conjunction with Caroline Australia.

The five-track EP includes her breakthrough first single You Don't Think You Like People Like Me as well as follow-up cut Let's Go Out in addition to three new tracks and some pretty dang great feline-heavy artwork.
