Learn all about the industry from some of the biggest names in the country.
The 2021 Women In Music mentorship program is now open to applicants all throughout Australia.
The government-funded initiative aims to provide practical aid to female-identifying and non-binary musicians, helping them further understand and navigate the administrative, financial and managerial sides of the industry at large.
Conceived and presented by the Australian Independent Labels Association (AIR), Women In Music is a five-month, hands-on experience for artists and music industry workers of all levels to learn what it takes to make it.
AIR CEO Maria Amato has beckoned the new intake of potential applicants, noting "We look forward to announcing the mentees for round two of this nationwide program and to delivering professional development to help assist with career progression.”
Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP echoed this sentiment, adding, “This important program is part of the Morrison Government’s commitment to supporting the ongoing sustainability of our music industry, and is delivering important opportunities for women in the industry to develop and advance their careers.”
