Against Me! Part Ways With Management

Excessive costs for cancelled Italian show appear to have motivated the split

More Against Me! Against Me!

It's been a tumultuous week for provocative US punks Against Me!. Only a few days after the band's transsexual frontwoman Laura Jane Grace called out indie icons Arcade Fire over their casting choices for the clip for their pro-LGBT anthem We Exist, the singer has announced over Twitter that they have dropped their management.

Though information is limited at this time, Grace confirmed that Against Me! were forced to cancel a planned show in Milan on June 23. Following her initial announcement that the cancellation was due to an unspecified playing cost to the band of $3000, she later clarified "overdrive and double driver fees" as the cause, clearing Italian promoter Hub Music Factory of fans knocking at its Twittersphere door in search of an explanation.

Against Me! are yet to release an official statement regarding the dispute/dissolution of their management deal, or an indication of whether it would result in rescheduling/refunds; however, Grace did indicate on Twitter that the band are "doing our best ... and will keep everyone posted".
