"There was talk quite recently about filming, maybe, a short series of ten."
This Sunday, ABC will air the third of four Spicks & Specks specials but according to Adam Hills, a new season of the TV music quiz show could be on the way.
Appearing on the latest episode of The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast, the Spicks & Specks host said there was talk "quite recently" about shooting a new ten-episode season.
"I don't think we'd ever do 40 again. I think that just would take up too much time," Hills told host Neil Griffiths.
Like most industries around the world, the COVID pandemic has had a massive impact and could drastically change plans this year.
"There was talk of doing a series of ten at some point this year, but then I had to juggle that around The Last Leg and the Paralympics. And now, the Paralympics have been cancelled as well, or postponed, so there's definitely a possibility [of more Spicks & Specks episodes]," Hills said.

"It also, again, comes down to whether or not you can still have people on a panel and people in the audience. If we ever go back to those days... [Team captains Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst] and I all want it to happen.
"It's just a matter of logistically pulling it together. But yeah, I think there could be some more."
