Australian comedian and television personality Adam Hills has signed an exclusive deal with the UK's Channel 4 to develop ideas for the network, but the partnership won't affect his relationship with the ABC.

The year-long deal includes another series of daily Paralympics show The Last Leg, which Hills hosted on Channel 4 during the event this year. It will return in 2013 following a Christmas special, according to Chortle.

A representative for the ABC said that the deal wouldn't impact on his TV plans in Australia. “You can safely say that he'll be back on the ABC in 2013,” they said.

As part of the UK deal, Channel Four will also show a stand-up special of Hills performing in London.

'The Paralympics is one of my favourite events in the world,” said Hills. “When Channel 4 offered me the chance to cover it with The Last Leg, I jumped at it. It's not often you get the chance to do something you absolutely love, that people seem to connect with.

“I thought The Last Leg was going to be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I'm over the moon to think that we can do it all again.”

These days Hills splits his time evenly between Australia and overseas opportunities.
