David Bowie Is – the exhibition that celebrates the extraordinary career of an extraordinary artist – will open in July 2015.

As part of Melbourne Winter Masterpieces, ACMI presents David Bowie Is – an exhibition that celebrates the extraordinary career of an extraordinary artist.

Created by Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2013, the exhibition draws upon unprecedented access to the David Bowie Archive of costumes, objects, album artwork and memorabilia.

The exhibition also includes never-before-seen storyboards, handwritten set lists and lyrics, Bowie’s sketches, musical scores and diary entries. In conjunction with the exhibition, ACMI will curate a program of talks, special events, film screenings and live performances.

David Bowie Is runs next year from 16 Jul to 1 Nov.
