Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley is currently hospitalised on life support, reports regarding the musician’s health have claimed.

Sources such as TMZ and The Independent have reported that the 74-year-old musician’s current medical status follows on from a brain bleed suffered in a fall last month.

In a social media post shared to his followers in late September, it was confirmed that Frehley had “a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital,” necessitating the cancellation of a date in California on September 26th,

“He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time,” the post continued.

Earlier this month, on October 7th, another post was shared noting, “Due to some ongoing medical issues, Ace has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of his 2025 dates.”

TMZ has reported that Frehley’s family has been “considering turning off support ... perhaps as soon as Thursday evening [US time],” with rumours regarding the guitarist’s passing also making their way onto social media as well.

However, a representative for Frehley told The Independent that “I am in direct contact with his people and there has been NO confirmation that Mr. Frehley has passed at this moment.”

Frehley was one of the founding mebers of KISS, adopting his well-known persona of The Spaceman (or Space Ace) during his tenure with the band from 1973 until 1983. Following the founding of his Frehley's Comet band and a solo career, Frehley rejoined KISS in 1996, remaining within the group until 2002.

Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with KISS in 2014, Frehley was not involved in the group’s final run of shows, with bassist Gene Simmons claiming that both Frehley and drummer Peter Criss denied offers to appear.

Frehley’s most recent album, 10,000 Volts, was released in 2024, with his Origins, Vol. 3 covers album reportedly on the way, and a fourth volume in the works.
