A Stack Of Music Shows Are Coming To ABC Next Month

ABC TV is adding a bunch of music-based programming to its iView platform very soon, with a plenty of docos and live performances hitting screens next month.

A special screening of the BBC series Life In Ten Pictures will be aired on 16 September, focusing on legendary singer Amy Winehouse. Marking a decade since the performers tragic passing, the special will look back on her life through the lens of ten personal photographs and the stories behind them.

Winehouse is being celebrated all over the place this year, with a number of tributes including a special documentary presented by her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield set to air on MTV this weekend.

Also coming to ABC is A-HA The Movie - which chronicles the New Wave '80s sensations that shot to the top of the charts with Take On Me

The Norwegian band were resilient hitmakers in their heyday, and the film captures everything from their dizzying highs to the lowest lows. It'll be on your screens from 15 September.

On 1 September, another documentary film is set to screen on ABC Hitsville: The Making Of Motown takes an in-depth look at how Motown, the massive record label founded by Berry Gordy, came to fruition at a pivotal time in the racial and class divide of mid-20th century America. 

It features interviews with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Jamie Foxx and many more.

Finally, the annual Last Night Of The Proms will air on 3 September. Finnish maestra Dalia Stasevska will conduct a series of orchestral tunes that have been specially curated for the current climate. Evoking the many moods and feelings of the past 18 months, lockdowns and more, the performance is set to astound.
