Reclaim THIS, Christmas albums!

More A.B. Original More A.B. Original

They've done it — hip hop duo AB Original have picked up the highest local debut on the ARIA Charts this week with their debut record, Reclaim Australia.

Despite strong competition from December's usual bevy of Christmas albums, Briggs and Trials' politically-charged record has come in strong at #10, having picked up critical acclaim and The Music's Album Of The Week too.

Unsurprisingly, Canadian superstar The Weeknd has come in at #1 with the debut of Starboy, coinciding with the headlines he made this week for performing at the Victoria's Secret runway show in Paris alongside Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.

Meanwhile, Metallica stayed persistent at #2 with Hardwired… To Self-Destruct after their chart-topping debut last week, while the rest of the top ten were littered by Christmas albums from Michael Buble (#3) and John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John (#4), ARIA Hall Of Fame inductees Crowded House (#5) and soon-to-be-touring Adele (#6).

Other debuts this week included Susan Boyle's A Wonderful World at #14, Garth Brooks' Gunslinger at #16, Kate Bush's Before The Dawn at #35 and Prince compilation 4ver at #36.

Over on the Singles Chart, Clean Bandit's Rockabye featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie shot back up to the coveted #1 slot, with Flume scoring the week's highest debut with Skin Companion EP I at #29.
