The Brit post-rockers are fitting in some extra shows on top of their Adelaide Festival appearance
Sheffield's own post-rock luminaries 65daysofstatic have announced that they will undertake a national run of shows in March next year while in the country for the 2015 Adelaide Festival.
Kicking off with their festival appearance (their first ever in Adelaide) on Saturday, March 7, the veteran instrumental rockers — whose most recent release was last year's Wild Light, the outfit's sixth studio full-length — will head on to melt faces in Melbourne (twice!), Sydney and Brisbane before winding up the show in Perth at Amplifier, on Friday, March 13.
In addition to the past year's support for Wild Light, the band have been keeping busy of late commemorating the tenth anniversary of their incendiary debut album, The Fall Of Math, which dropped in 2004 following three full-on years of cutting their teeth amid the blossoming post-rock scene in the UK. They've since emerged as premier players both inside and exterior to the genre, having even accompanied The Cure as supports on the vets' 2007-09 worldwide arena tour. Check out a live clip of them performing their breakthrough track from The Fall Of Math, Retreat! Retreat!, below.
65daysofstatic will be joined for their 2015 Australian tour by Perth-bred experimental troupe Tangled Thoughts Of Leaving, who have themselves been garnering a strong live reputation following successful support stints with the likes of This Will Destroy You, Russian Circles and Deafheaven, as well has having chalked up a European tour. They'll be premiering new work from recent EP Downbeat at the shows.
