3rd Secret ProfileA who’s who of grunge legends have joined forces for a new album.
Krist Novoselić of Nirvana fame has teamed up with drummer Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden), guitarists Kim Thayil (Soundgarden) and Bubba Dupree (Void), and vocalists Jennifer Johnson and Jillian Raye, the latter of whom has previously worked with Novoselić in Giants In The Trees, for new band 3rd Secret.
Not only have the collective unveiled the new project this week, but a self-titled 11-track album, which is out now, written by Novoselić and Cameron.
The LP was also co-produced and mixed by Jack Endino, who worked on Nirvana’s Bleach.
The first rumblings of the new project arose in late February when Novoselić teased he was “really busy trying to finish a record” in a tweet that was deleted shortly after.
“In the middle of some hangups – looking for a mid-March release. But it’s a secret, so don’t tell anybody!” he said.
Across the weekend, Cameron shared a photo on Instagram of the band’s first show, a secret gig at Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture.
