"It is showcases such as this that can often provide the ‘break’ that can be a pivotal career moment for a young artist."

The 35th return of Queensland's much-loved country music festival the Gympie Music Muster is set to bring its love of food and good music back to the serene Arnamoor Creek State Forest. Promoters of the festival have now announced the inaugural Emerging Talent Showcase to give young up-and-comers a chance to strut their stuff.

The Muster has been long supportive of local and homegrown music through the Muster Talent Search and its Directors are proud to announce this decision to give 30 bright, young acts the spotlight through the Emerging Talent Showcase.

Music Program Director, Jeff Chandler, says, "As someone who has worked for many years in the music industry by discovering and developing unknown talent, I can’t overstate the importance of such an opportunity for aspiring artists.

"While talent competitions are key for those who are just entering the music industry, it is showcases such as this that can often provide the ‘break’ that can be a pivotal career moment for a young artist."

The four-day Muster is set to include this addition for future years, in an attempt to offer a platform for acts to start and launch careers, effectively creating a super nurturing environment for young artists.

Gympie Music Muster will be held from 25th — 28th August, two hours out of Brisbane.
