It’s another big week for Australian independent music company UNIFIED Music Group, which has teamed up with 7Entertainment and Startist for a new joint venture.

7Entertainment and Startist, a booking and talent agency, and Startist, a premier artist management company, are both based in India. Together with UNIFIED, the companies will oversee touring, artist management, and recorded music.

As Music Ally reports, the trio have a plan to showcase a vision that brings “India’s music to the world, and the world’s music to India.”

In a statement, UNIFIED’s Jaddan Comerford explained that he’d been working with the founder of 7Entertainment and Startist, Sidhartha Todi, over the past year in building the strength of their businesses. “This is one of those rare moments where one plus one might equal three, or even more,” Comerford said.

Todi added, “We’re as committed to amplifying Indian voices globally as we are to helping international artists navigate India in a culturally relevant and sustainable way.”

Music Ally reports that the companies aim to spotlight Startist-managed artist Anurag Saikia, a composer who works on soundtracks for Indian web-based series. Saikia recently topped the Global Daily Viral Songs chart on Spotify with the hit single, Ishq Hai.

The partnership between UNIFIED, 7Entertainment and Startist is set to be formally announced at the All About Music conference in Mumbai next week.

This isn’t UNIFIED’s first connection to the Indian music industry. Earlier this year, the company entered a strategic partnership with Mantra Roots.

Mantra Roots provides support in production, publishing, promotion, and performance for spiritually devoted artists, working to remove barriers for said artists.

By partnering with Mantra Roots, UNIFIED continues its expansion into India. UNIFIED has already promoted ISHAN at The Hills Festival in Meghalaya, who later opened for Bryan Adams in Kolkata.

In partnership with Mantra Roots, UNIFIED also secured Maithili Thakur for Melbourne’s ALWAYS LIVE, and Radhika Das for his debut Australian tour in October 2024. In March, the companies presented Jahnavi Harrison (with support from Keli Woods) in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
