Two towering figures in the world of local music, it’s difficult to look past the impact of Linda Bosidis and Chris Maund. While Linda has served as Managing Director of Mushroom Music Publishing (having been with the company since 1996), she’s spent years strengthening the global reputation of the company and its artists, while also serving as an influential voice across the industry, holding positions on the boards of APRA, AMCOS, AMPAL, and the International Music Publishing Forum (IMPF).

Chris, meanwhile, has crafted a career that includes roles across labels, publishing, legal affairs, and global digital rights, and roles including COO of Mushroom Labels & Publishing, MD of Ivy League Records, and Director of Legal and Business Affairs. Together, Linda and Chris serve as co-CEOs of Mushroom Music, with its 2024 launch uniting Mushroom’s recording, publishing, and neighbouring rights divisions into one powerhouse, providing artists and songwriters with an unmatched, fully integrated network of creative, commercial, and strategic support.

THE YEAR IN AUSTRALIAN MUSIC:

Given the breadth and depth of Mushroom Music's focus, it's easy to see why two storied industry figures are needed to head up such a giant undertaking. Representing an immense roster that includes Kylie Minogue, Vance Joy, The Teskey Brothers, Jimmy Barnes, The Temper Trap, Confidence Man, and more, it's the largest music collective of its kind in the region. 

Throughout the 2024-2025 period, we've seen Mushroom Music's artists top the Australian charts 11 times, hit the top ten more than 30 times, nab countless Gold, Silver, and Platinum accreditations, and bring home numerous trophies at the ARIA Awards. With the recent launch of a sub-publishing partnership with peermusic to represent the Mushroom Music Publishing catalogue across the US, Canada, and Latin America, the wins keep on coming for Linda and Chris and the Mushroom Music team – and, by extension – Australian music as a whole.

It’s hard to think of a more experienced and respected duo than Linda and Chris, with decades of label and publishing experience, bringing the Mushroom model of looking after multiple rights for artists to the fore. With last year’s restructure, Mushroom Music is now more nimble and integrated, and the results are showing in the charts. 

With an enviable back catalogue and a DNA of music success that continues to drive the company forward, Chris and Linda are also fierce defenders of artists’ rights, particularly in this year’s fight against AI copyright exemptions, with their influence being seen well beyond the Mushroom walls.
