One Of One Reveals Awards Ahead Of 10th Anniversary Event

One Of One's tenth-anniversary celebrations have just gotten bigger. Today, the organisation announced the awards that will be presented at this year’s events.

In case you missed it: One Of One will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a national breakfast tour this March, stopping in Perth for the first time. Tina Arena has been locked in as a special keynote speaker at the Melbourne event, while more speakers will be revealed ahead of the star-studded events.

One Of One supports and empowers the Australian music industry’s female and gender non-conforming members. Its annual events take place in March – Women’s History Month – with this year’s first date happening the day before International Women’s Day (Saturday, 8 March).

The organisation is orchestrated by a team of talented and respected Australian music industry professionals: Sarah Hamilton, Joanna Cameron, and Bec Young.

Today, One Of One has announced a collection of awards, grants, and scholarship opportunities to be presented at each event. The not-for-profit organisation has secured the awards in collaboration with event sponsors such as Warner Music Australia, Mushroom Music, UNIFIED Music Group, GYROstream, and White Sky.

Awards include the Music Innovator Award (in partnership with Warner), the Entrepreneurs Scholarship (White Sky), the Mushroom Music Grant, the Community Impact Award (UNIFIED), and Get Your One Of One (GYROstream).

The Music Innovator Award “recognises and celebrates the groundbreaking contributions” of women and gender non-conforming individuals within the music industry, seeking those who have made “significant strides” in music marketing, management, A&R, and production. Meanwhile, the Entrepreneurs Scholarship is an annual award to an “emerging woman or gender non-conforming entrepreneur in the Australian music industry.” The winning individual will receive business support and advisory services valued at $10,000. Expressions of interest open on Friday, 7 March, and close on Tuesday, 1 April. You can find more information here.

The Mushroom Music Grant will go to an independent music industry professional or creator, the Community Impact Award will go to an individual “making an impact on the music industry in the fields of equality, diversity and inclusion,” and the Get Your One On One is an “exclusive mentoring package” valued at $5,000 designed to “empower and elevate women and GNC artists.”
