Jarred Wall, the talented Walyalaup/Fremantle artist behind the the moniker Boox Kid, has signed a global deal with Perfect Pitch Publishing to protect and monetise the rise of his unique brand of dreamy indie pop.

A stalwart of the Australian music business, Perfect Pitch Publishing’s co-founder Clive Hodson provides a wealth of knowledge from spaces such as AMCOS, Creative Australia (formerly Australia Council for the Arts) and ABC Music, while co-founder and director Peter Paterson has over two decades of publishing experience. Relocating from Sydney back to its hometown, Perth, in the mid-2010s, the publishing company has since taken on WA acts such as SophianJoan & The Giants, and Voyager

“There's a bit of a joke that there must be something in the water over here for the amount of bands, that are not only on the Australian stage but also the international stage, that have come out of Western Australia,” Clive has previously said of the relocation.

While not a label for Boox Kid as such, Perfect Pitch will help provide a leg up for Wall to promote both his performing and songwriting abilities under appropriate legal safeguards.

Boox Kid’s music, such as the tracks from his debut EP Reflections, released in April 2024, has gained traction on platforms like Spotify, where standout track I Don’t Mind amassed over 100,000 streams. His talent extends beyond the studio; Wall has performed on prominent stages, including BIGSOUND, WAMfest, and Perth Bluesfest, as well as stints with the West Australian Opera on Noongar language pieces such as Wundig wer Wilura.

With this partnership, Boox Kid is poised to continue his global ascent. Already getting to work, the artist will be kicking off the partnership with the upcoming track Landslide, slated for 31st January.
