In 2025, the Gold Coast Music Awards (GCMAs) are returning for their eleventh year to spotlight the city’s most exciting home-grown musical talent, and nominations for the awards are now officially open.
Musicians and bands of any genre, as well as producers, venues and creatives, can nominate across ten diverse categories, including Artist, Breakout Artist, Live Act, Musician, Venue, Studio Producer of the Year and more.
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must have released music, performed, or been active in their category between April 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025 and must have a strong connection to the Gold Coast. Nominations are now open and will close on Monday, July 14.
A respected panel of judges, comprising industry leaders from across the Australian music landscape, will assess the nominees, with finalists to be announced on October 9. The spectacular awards ceremony itself will be held on Thursday, November 27, at HOTA, Home of the Arts, the Surfers Paradise cultural centre.
Tickets for the 2025 GCMAs will go on sale on July 22.

Samantha Morris, Co-Founder of the GCMAs, said the Awards continue to celebrate Gold Coast culture.
“Last year, we celebrated 10 years of the Gold Coast Music Awards with a record-breaking crowd at HOTA, Home of the Arts. We’re proud to support and champion artists from all genres who are kicking big goals here on the Gold Coast, as well as across Australia and internationally.”
She continued, “This city has its roots in entertainment, and we’re proud to shine a light on the incredible talent who keep the Gold Coast humming.
“As a city, we should be incredibly proud of our world-class venues and recording studios and diverse musical talent. There’s no question we have a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming music scene here, and we’re thrilled to showcase the best of the best for our 11th year.”
