The iconic Mushroom Group have today announced the launch of its latest arm, an update to its talent booking division dubbed the Mushroom Booking Agency (MBA).

It comes in partnership with Guven Yilmaz (joining via the Vita Music Group, which he also founded), who will spearhead the new agency in tandem with a team of industry heavyweights including Matt Thomson, Shelley Liu and Sam Rogers. In a press release, MBA is described as “an artist-first agency specialising in live bookings and strategy, touring and partnerships”.

As part of the new agency’s structure, MBA will represent a suite of artists from Vita’s existing roster, as well as some artists already handled by Mushroom. A full list of the artists represented at launch can be found below.

“Mushroom has been esteemed as the independent leader in the Australian music and entertainment industry. Partnering with a company that not only emphasises but promotes an independent entrepreneurial culture was essential to me,” Guven said in a statement.

MBA pairs Guven up with Mushroom’s current Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski (son of late Mushroom founder and industry legend Michael Gudinski), who the former said in his statement “has long been successful in the touring realm” and “continued to foster a culture that empowers those he works with”.

Guven added: “There was room for a new and dynamic offering within Mushroom, so partnering with Matt on MBA was incredibly appealing and a natural progression.

“We’re proud to offer the culture and approachability of a more agile business, while providing the resources of a larger one. We’re about ensuring personalised attention from our team, who will work closely with clients to ensure we amplify our artist and manager’s touring strategies.”

In a statement of his own, Gudinski expressed a keen excitement to work with Guven on MBA. “We’re delighted to have Guven join the Mushroom family,” he said. “He’s a very well respected agent and operator, with an incredible track record to boot. Supported by a first-class team … I am excited about the offering we are going to create for the talent we represent.
