Australian DJ/producer Sonny Fodera, Amyl And The Sniffers and dance group Confidence Man have been nominated for absolutely massive BRIT Awards.

The former has been nominated for Song of the Year, while Confidence Man and Amyl And The Sniffers have received a nod for Best International Group.

The 2025 BRIT Awards will take place on Saturday, 1 March, in the UK. Check out the full list of nominees below.

In Fodera’s case, the nomination is even more significant as his track Somedays marks the sole independent release in the coveted category.

Fodera was born and raised in Adelaide and is now based in London. Somedays features special guests Jazzy and D.O.D. and was released through Fodera’s own label, Solotoko. The epic milestone arrives ahead of the Aussie talent releasing his forthcoming single, Tell Me, with Clementine Douglas in February.

His third collaboration with Douglas, Tell Me is set to follow their tracks Angel and 2023’s Asking. The pair have racked up over 300 million streams between them, with the newly BRIT-nominated Somedays clocking over 110 million streams. In Australia, it’s certified Gold. It’s also been certified Gold in the UK and Double Platinum in Ireland.

Upon its release in August, Somedays was described as a track “dripping in summer energy and a feel-good passion for festivals and beach holiday vibes.”

Meanwhile, with their nomination for Best International Group, Amyl And The Sniffers and Confidence Man are the first Aussie outfits to be nominated for Best International Group since Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds in 2017.

Confidence Man’s nomination comes after the release of their critically acclaimed, thrilling third album 3AM (LA LA LA), which made it to the Top 10 in the UK last year. The group also performed at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival and embarked on a sold-out UK headline tour that included two shows at London’s O2 Brixton Academy.

Confidence Man recently won Best Live Act at the Rolling Stone UK Awards and were nominated for three ARIA Awards (Best Group, Best Live Act, and Best Music Video) at the 2024 ceremony.

Amyl And The Sniffers’ latest album, Cartoon Darkness, quickly picked up an Australian Music Prize nomination following its release. The band, currently on their largest Australian tour to date, recently discussed the new album, the challenges of expectations and breaking as an Aussie band overseas, and more in a recent The Music cover story interview.

2024 was a huge year for the Melbourne band, who, aside from releasing a new album, performed at European summer festivals throughout the year, supported Foo Fighters in the US, and headlined sold-out shows in the US, UK, and Europe.

In addition to their Australian tour, Amyl And The Sniffers will be the main support for Fontaines D.C.’s 45,000-capacity show at Finsbury Park in July 2025. The show is sold out.
