Bad Omens are due to return to Festival Hall tonight for a sold-out show.

At least three panels collapsed from the ceiling after confetti canons went off at Bad Omens’ gig at Festival Hall in Melbourne last night (22 January).
The show was the second Melbourne date added to meet the demand for the American alt-metal band’s goodbye, friend Australian tour, but it was the first night of the tour.
The incident occurred as Bad Omens performed their penultimate song of the night, Just Pretend, from their 2022 album THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND. As the band launched into the chorus, confetti canons went off, and at least three ceiling panels fell (from my view at the concert and the videos below), landing on people standing in the general admission area. Footage of the incident can be seen below.
Reports from the videos are mixed. Some users claim that they saw a girl injured by the ceiling panel falling on her, with some on social media claiming that a punter was hospitalised and bloody.
Neither the venue nor the band have shared statements. As the incident occurred with confetti in the band’s eyesight, and they immediately went off stage to darkness before returning for one more song, they might not have seen it.
Bad Omens are due to return to Festival Hall tonight for a sold-out concert with special guests Poppy and House Of Protection. At the time of publication, there’s been no suggestion that last night’s incident will impact tonight’s show.

Following their Melbourne shows, Bad Omens will head to Brisbane for a sold-out show at the Riverstage (Saturday, 25 January) and two nights at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion (Tuesday, 28 and Wednesday, 29 January).
Bad Omens are touring Australia for the second time in their career, following their debut run as part of Knotfest Australia and a string of sideshows in March 2023. Unfortunately, that tour was hampered by singer Noah Sebastian's struggles with vocal issues, which led to ending their Sydney sideshow early and cancelling their appearance at Knotfest in Melbourne.
In 2022, Bad Omens released their third album, THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND. Earlier this year, they shared its sibling remix album, Concrete Jungle [The OST]. Bad Omens have racked up 1.9 billion streams worldwide and gathered international acclaim.
