After twelve years at Live Nation, Greg Segal has announced his departure.
In 2019, Segal took on the role of brand and marketing partnerships in Australia and New Zealand. He previously served as managing director of the Sydney agency, mixitup, which he founded in 2006. In 2013, Live Nation acquired a major share in the local agency.
He’s remained the President of Brand Partnerships at Live Nation for Australia and New Zealand, but now, he’s taking an “overdue career break” to recharge and spend more time with his family.
Segal shared the news on LinkedIn yesterday (1 April), writing: “They say that all good things must come to an end, and after 12 incredible years at Live Nation, I’ve decided to move on.”
Writing that he’s “cherished” his time at Live Nation, which has included working alongside a “great team with amazing brand partners” across artists, tours, festivals, venues, ticketing businesses, and digital platforms, Segal continued:
“When I sold my brand partnerships agency mixitup to Live Nation in 2013, I was excited by the prospect of building the AUS/NZ Sponsorship business as Managing Director of the new joint venture company.

“Since those early days, there have been countless highlights, from negotiating Cher’s appearance at Mardi Gras 40th Anniversary to securing naming rights for Auckland’s Spark Arena to establishing a suite of long-term, strategic brand partnerships with market-leading brands.”
During his time at Live Nation, Segal recalled the original team of five people growing into a team of 50. Over the last six years as President of Brand Partnerships, he enjoyed “the privilege of leading our Sponsorship division in realising 4000% annual revenue growth.”
He continued, “Without a doubt, the most rewarding part of the journey has been all of the wonderful and inspiring people I have had the privilege to work alongside. Thank you to everyone who supported my vision and who brought their own brilliance to the table, and always pushed for greatness.
“I’m planning an overdue career break - time to recharge and spend more time with family.
“For now, it's farewell but not goodbye and a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey.”
Kristy Rosser, previously the Senior Vice President of Marketing Solutions and Client Services at Live Nation, will assume leadership of the Sponsorships division, taking on the Senior Vice President role of Media and Sponsorships across Australia and New Zealand for Live Nation.
Alex Klos, COO of Live Nation ANZ, said of Segal’s departure and welcoming Rosser, “We thank Greg for his instrumental role in building Live Nation's Sponsorship division in Australia and New Zealand. We're excited to announce Kristy will expand her role, leveraging her expertise in creating impactful brand partnerships within the music landscape.”
Rosser added, “I’m honoured to be leading our sponsorship strategy into the future and look forward to collaborating with our team and our partners to drive growth and create even more powerful brand experiences in the live entertainment space.”
