The tenth annual Gold Coast Music Awards will go down next month, and today, the incredible finalists in ten categories have been announced.
From country (Chloe Styler) to metal (Wildheart), the 2024 Gold Coast Music Awards have it all, with this year’s diverse nominees following in the footsteps of Hall of Fame inductees Amy Shark and Casey Barnes, as well as previous winners Budjerah, Busby Marou, Tijuana Cartel, and Hussy Hicks.
This year’s award ceremony will take place in Theatre 1 at HOTA (Home Of The Arts) on Thursday, 29 August. There will be live performances from Black Vatican Death Squad, Felicity Lawless, LYRIC, Sunny Luwe, and more to be confirmed. You can find the details for attending the Gold Coast Music Awards and the after-party here.
In a statement, Samantha Morris, Co-Founder of the Awards and Chair of the Judging Panel, said: “For ten years, we’ve been shining a light on the depth and diversity of talent here, and it only gets harder. The quality of nominations coming out of the Gold Coast this year was incredible.”
Morris added that this year’s finalists “encapsulate” the best of what the city has to offer – “rising stars and exceptional talent.”
Gold Coast Music Awards Co-Founder Chloe Popa added, “Every artist acknowledged as a finalist today could easily win their category. That’s the standard we’re dealing with. For a regional city, we’ve always punched above our weight, and it’s certainly no different when it comes to local, original music.”
